Beautiful simplicity

I’m coming from a place of simplicity. Simplicity in the walking out of just one day of given life. Waking up before light appears to sit with the Lord for however long you’d like. Praising who He is for He is and always will be more than enough. Do you remind yourself that daily? Feasting for hours upon His word, truly you can never get enough. It fills your soul until you want to give it away. You meditate on His precepts, He shows you what He has for you and the people you’ll encounter. You get flutters in your stomach thinking about just what possible thing he may want you to step into today. It’s scary, but you’ll do it because you love Him. You love Him because you trust Him, He’s been faithful every time to what he told you. He’s never let you down nor has he ever left your side.

It’s praying over what you can clearly see will be the goal for the day. Ministry to these men and these people. Speaking in the utterance of the Spirit as how could you know what perfect thing to pray? You place your life in His hands again, how could you walk in your own insight? He fills you with his peace that goes past your circumstances, you rest every hour in it. Gladness pours over your shoulders, you know he’s made you with His intricate hands. You know you’re meant to be used by His preeminence. That gives you joy.

No not looking ahead to next week for you know there’s so much that can happen between now and then. Your focus goes to the men you’re leading, you really are a steward of their lives. You’re quickly humbled at the task ahead, you know you’re more than capable, for your trust is in the one that made them. You take perspective from outside yourself through Him. You seek what He has, you have to, do you really want to make these choices on your own? You couldn’t even understand where to start. Your heart groans for them, you can clearly see what they need by their words that come forth. Your eyes see each of their hearts as their maker does. It’s weighty but not quite burdensome. You desire to feed them, to gently direct them. They’re desperate in so many ways and don’t even realize it. They’re in need of a helper. They need the Ghost of God. Not just when they need Him to show up in their timing, they need Him to even utter a word. Will they be able to walk on their own? You hope and pray for their souls. You place them in your fathers soft hands.

As you hike across the potholes you ponder of a question to ask. How does he walk each day like this. Where does his fulfillment lie? Clearly he’s been doing this awhile. He tells you the Lord called Him and that was enough. To know there was something bigger than himself gave him drive. How inspiring.

You look them in the eyes, eyes that clearly have seen too much to bear. You can see deeper, you have insight to their spirit. There’s more behind them-weariness. Her expectation shutters. Will we obtain food tomorrow? How can I keep him in school to at least finish the year? My heart is beating fast, who are these young white people and what are they doing here. I ask her-what is it you hope in? Do you know the one that made you? He dearly loves you. Did you know he delights in you? She has tears in her eyes. All I hope is that God touches her aching soul.

Hope that goes past this world is what we have. Eyes that can see past our circumstances is what we desire. Be filled with the flowing waters of life. God, give our souls rest in your arms. Amen.
